From Samar to Guam: An Ongoing Adventure

A Return to Our Alternate Paradise

After a rejuvenating 30-day stay in the tranquil beauty of Samar in the Philippines, we find ourselves back in our alternate paradise: Guam. It’s amazing how even a short time away can bring fresh insights and cherished moments that linger long after returning home.

The Beauty of Samar

Samar was nothing short of known expectations. We have resided here since 2013 and, aside from getting some things accomplished at the homestead, we took the opportunity to re-explore a few of Calbayog City's newest businesses and restaurants, did some shopping, visited with family and friends and checked out the local sites. We indulged in fresh seafood right off the boat and explored the local beachfront, as we always do. I managed to take a couple motorcycle trips with friends and visited some new places and enjoyed landscapes and views never before seen. Teri jumped right back into her Zumba routine with old acquaintences while I spent most of my time at home and around the village absorbing the local vibe. Every day in Samar is always a new adventure waiting to happen, and I could have stayed a bit longer. But we have animals at home in Guam, and they dictate our length of stay away from there.

Embracing Life in Guam

Now that we’re back on the beautiful shores of Guam, we realize how lucky we are to call these two stunning places our homes. Guam offers a different kind of paradise with its warm, sunny beaches and crystal-clear waters. It’s not just about the scenery; it’s about the community, the familiar faces, and that comfortable feeling of being at home. We may have left Samar, but we’ve created new memories that enrich our experiences, here and there.

As we plunge back into life on this beautiful island, we’re excited to combine what we learned from our adventure in Samar with our daily experiences here in Guam. Whether it’s appreciating the local cuisine or enjoying outdoor activities, each island teaches us new ways to revel in the beauty around us.

Both Guam and Samar have their unique charms, and each contributes to our lives in a remarkable way. We feel so grateful for the experiences we’ve gained, and we can’t wait to share more about our adventures in these beautiful places. We are simply enjoying our existence!
