Small Quake Jolts Samar

A magnitude 3.9 earthquake jolted parts of Northern Samar Thursday afternoon, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.

In an advisory, Phivolcs said the tremor was recorded at 2:49 p.m., with the epicenter plotted 51 kilometers northeast of Palapag in Northern Samar. The agency said the tectonic quake had a depth of 10 kilometers, adding that no damage has been reported. Aftershocks are not expected, it added.
