Update: 16 inmates escape Calbayog City jail – PNP

jail_escape1_coCALBAYOG CITY, Samar – Sixteen inmates escape from the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) facility in Brgy. Gadgaran around 9:00am today, Calbayog City Police Station (CCPS) Chief PSupt. Elmer Cinco said.Cinco identified the escapees as Dindo Calagos (rape), Nelwin Juanerio (murder), Edwin Abria (murder), Roel Cuanico (robbery), Freddie Cagomoc (robbery), Malix Lucente (murder), Efren Pante (murder), Ian Pante (murder), Roberto Pintuan (violation of Sec. 5 RA9262 VAWC), Romeo Carpio (murder), Romeo Coligado (rape), Romeo Pinote (rape and attempted rape), Gerry Dealagdon (murder), Crisanto delos Reyes (frustrated murder), Joey Agas (highway robbery), and Dante Helilio (highway robbery).No official statement yet from BJMP has been released to the media.Residents within the Calbayog City Jail vicinity said they heard a commotion and gunshot inside the facility around 9:00am before the prisoners escape.

Immediately after that the inmates started escaping through the jail’s main gate, one of the witnesses said who requested anonymity.

The witness added that some escapees were holding M16 rifles and .45 pistols.

BJMP and Calbayog City Police Station (CCPS) personnel are now coordinating in the manhunt of the inmates. (CalbayogPost)

  1. Well, it’s been over 48 hours and nary another word spoken about the news of this escape or the wherabouts of the 16 criminals at large. Rumors abound, but nothing official has been released or is being disseminated. Just another day in paradise.
